Biden to Speak at National League of Cities 2015 Congress of Cities and Exposition

The National League of Cities (NLC) announced Friday that Vice President Joe Biden will address leaders of cities across the U.S. at the organization's 2015 Congress of Cities and Exposition in Nashville.

Mr. Biden's opening remarks will take place on November 5th as part of the Congress of Cities Opening General Session.

"We are honored to have Vice President Biden address the thousands of city officials that will convene in Nashville next week for the Congress of Cities," said National League of Cities President Ralph Becker, mayor, Salt Lake City, Utah. "The National League of Cities represents cities and towns of all sizes, and our members are eager to hear the vice president address the issues that matter most to cities."

NLC and its member cities have partnered with the administration on programs including Let's Move! Cities, Towns & Counties and TechHire. In addition, NLC has productive partnerships with the Departments of Education, Interior and Housing and Urban Development, Health and Human Services, Department of Energy and Small Business Administration.

The Congress of Cities and Exposition is NLC's annual conference that offers exceptional educational and networking opportunities to increase the effectiveness of local leaders. It is the largest gathering of local elected officials and staff in the country. President Barack Obama addressed NLC's Congressional City Conference, a meeting that NLC convenes annually in Washington, last March.
