Hawai‘i Tourism Authority Seeks Event Planning Partner for Annual Tourism Conference

The Hawai‘i Convention Center
The Hawai‘i Tourism Authority (HTA), the state’s tourism agency, has issued a request for qualifications (RFQ) for event planning for the Hawai‘i Tourism Conference 2016.

Held annually at the Hawai‘i Convention Center, the tourism conference is Hawai‘i’s premier educational and networking event for the visitor industry and tourism stakeholders. The event features local, national and international experts who cover topics including current trends, market development and issues occurring in the global visitor industry. Attendance at the 2015 conference reached a record 1,100 attendees.

In 2016, the HTA is seeking to expand the conference into a city-wide event and grow attendance by drawing increased participation from Asia and the U.S. mainland. Next year’s conference will be held from Sept. 26 to 30, 2016.

The RFQ is available for download at www.hawaiitourismauthority.org. Submissions in response to the RFQ are due no later than 4:30 p.m. Hawai‘i-Aleutian Standard Time (HAST) on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015. The contract will commence on Jan. 1, 2016 for one year with two one-year renewal options.

Questions regarding this RFP may be directed to HTA Contracts Specialist Ronald Rodriguez at (808) 973-2251 or ronald@gohta.net.
