Cyber Security Researcher to Present "Cautionary Tale" on Mobile Medical Data Fraud at HIMSS Summit

Security researcher Stephen Cobb of  ESET® will be at the company's exhibit booth at the Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Cybersecurity Summit  in Washington, DC.

The presentation is set for November 10, 1:30 p.m.–1:50 p.m. at Booth 1405.

Mobile health initiatives have the potential to expose electronic health records and other sensitive data to theft and abuse. Cobb tells a chilling story of what can happen to purloined information—from the inner workings of virtual dark markets to the reality of life-threatening medical fraud.

ESET will showcase IT solutions that enable healthcare organizations to address security challenges, ensure business continuity and improve overall compliance. ESET's security solutions address HIPAA and HITECH compliance, balance patient privacy with clinician access and protect against malware to keep systems secure.

According to the company, ESET solutions are light on resources, easy to manage and effective against advanced malware threats, enabling healthcare organizations to be more productive and better enabled to meet compliance requirements by simplifying IT security.
